The Ministry of Health has withdrawn this eyelash cosmetic for being unsafe: "It could pose a serious risk."

The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has announced the discontinuation of marketing, withdrawal from the market, and recall of units purchased by users of the cosmetic product 'Noa Nox Gel Remover', as its safe use cannot be guaranteed .

'Noa Nox Gel Remover' is a professional-grade gel designed to remove adhesive residue from eyelash extensions that may remain on natural eyelashes and surrounding skin after the extensions have been removed.

According to the AEMPS, after reviewing the safety assessment of this product, it has been shown that, due to its composition, "it could cause serious eye injuries" and that, although it is for professional use, " it cannot be guaranteed that it will not come into contact with the eyes of the end user", given that it is applied to a very close area , such as the eyelash line.

According to Article 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 , cosmetic products placed on the market must be safe for human health when used under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use.

Due to the impossibility of ensuring compliance with the aforementioned regulations, as the use of this cosmetic could pose a serious health risk, the AEMPS (Spanish Agency for the Promotion of the Prevention of Occupational Risks) has ordered the indicated measures, informing the health authorities of the autonomous communities of the aforementioned measures .

Likewise, the AEMPS has informed users that, if they have any units of the product, they should not use them and return them to the point of purchase or contact the responsible company to manage their return .

Furthermore, the AEMPS (Spanish Agency for Retail Sales) has asked retail outlets to review the products for sale and stored in their establishments and, if they have any units, to remove them from sale and contact the responsible company.
